Megan Anna Rapinoe, born in Redding California on 5 July 1985. Her soccer skills were honed throughout her teenage years. Rapinoe returned to the United States in 2011 after playing a few games in the Sydney Football Club FC, the Australian W-League. The next team she joined is the Seattle Washington Sounders Women. Now she is with the Sound FC. The 2013 season playing soccer in France. She joined Seattle Reign FC, now OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which had been formed following the demise of WPS. Rapinoe gained the status of one of the team's leading scorers and eventually became coach of the club. In Rio she and the U.S. lost in the quarterfinals. Her debut appearance in the FIFA Women's World Cup took place in 2011. She played a key role in guiding the U.S. Women's World Cup team to consecutive wins in the year 2015. The team was awarded cocaptain status in the year 2018. Rapinoe won two bronze medals at her part in the United States' 4-3 win against Australia in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 viral epidemic.
